There’s lot of quick solution available on internet which you will find but the required time to clean oven with baking soda properly takes 13-15 hours. It is because when you will use baking soda to your oven then it will take at least 12+ hours to clean oil residue/ grime buildup.

As it’s taking up much time to clean, so my recommendation for you do not start cleaning your oven just before your dinner or baking cake. You can simply start cleaning oven after your dinner and baking soda will continue to work while you sleeping with a sweet dream.

Steps to Clean Oven:

First of all, you need some few things to clean oven with baking soda which mentioned below:

  • Baking Soda
  • Water
  • Rubber Gloves
  • White Vinegar
  • Cleaning Rag or Plate
  • And Spay Bottle

Make Oven Empty:

In this step, remove your oven rack, pans, thermometer, pizza stone or anything else which you are using inside your oven. You can keep these things on a paper or old newspaper because if you keep it on floor or any other material like over the kitchen cabinet then it can make it dirty.

Make Baking Soda Paste:

After making oven empty, you need to make baking soda paste for cleaning. You can take half cup of baking soda and water as ingredients and start mixing till it gives your spreadable paste. If you required more soda then you can take more than half cup depending on your needs.

Apply Soda Paste:

Now you can start coating of soda paste to inside the oven. For this job don’t go with gloveless hands as dirt can go into your nails and this is a dirty job also. Continue spreading soda paste until all area are fill up with paste. If in some areas you see paste is thick or less then don’t worry it will take time to spread in those spaces.

When it will contact with residue or oil then the soda paste slowly will get started to turn into brown color which is indication of that paste start working.

Give Some Time to Paste:

After applying paste inside the oven now it’s time to wait at least 12 hours so paste can work completely and clean our oven.

Clean Oven Racks:

The best way to clean oven racks to keep these racks into a hot water for a while. After a duration of time like 1-2 hours you can easily clean oven racks and for this purpose you can use your bathtub. But if in case of your racks are extra dirty then keep some kind of cloth on the bottom of racks just to prevent your bathtub from becoming dirty.

Remove Paste:

Now after 12 hours its time to remove soda paste which we used on oven. To remove this, you can use a soft cloth and clean all inside the interior of oven. This will clean all residue of oven and will make it like a fresh new oven from inside.

Add Vinegar:

After cleaning soda paste, now for more better cleaning we will spray little bit vinegar through spray bottle. Actually, vinegar is very important for cleaning as it will make left behind soda paste or residue to loosen the oven interior.

Clean Oven Glass:

Your oven will look like dirty if you not pay attention towards cleaning of oven glass. For this cleaning you can paste soda on glass of oven. But now just keep it for 30-40 minutes and after that just clean it like as mentioned in above steps with the help of cloth.
